UNHCR staff register refugees at the Douma registration center on the outskirts of Damascus. Registering with UNHCR ensures that the most vulnerable refugees receive aid.

The main celebration took place in Kala Refugee Camp. The theme of the day was "Empowering Refugee Women as Partners for Peace and Development." Over 200 people attended, including refugees, local chiefs, NGO and UNHCR staff. Refugee women presented earthen vases and pots as well as wood carvings with flowers to the guest of honour, Minister of Lands, in the traditional style, with songs and dance.
