A series of events were organised in Geneva:

The campaign for World Refugee Day kicked off on 5 June with the opening of a photo exhibition on refugee women by classical singer Barbara Hendricks. The exhibition, held at the FNAC Rive store, featured photos of refugee women around the world and ran until 20 June.

On 6 June, a debate on the theme "Raising awareness on refugee issues among children" was held in FNAC Balexert with the participation of Jean-Daniel Müller from OSAR (Organisation Suisse d'Aide aux Réfugiés), Charlie Maurer from Fondation Education et Développement, and d'Anne-Lise Thurler, author of the book "L'enfant et le pangolin au pays des crocodiles"

The promotion of the photo book "A Journey Home: the humanitarian challenge in Kosovo" by Hélène Caux took place in FNAC Rive on 12 June.

Dr. Bertrand Cottet from OSAR and two refugee women took part of a debate on the integration of refugee women in Switzerland on 13 June in FNAC Rive.

UNHCR participated in the annual Bol d'Or sailboat race on 15 and 16 June. One of the boats bore the UNHCR flag, and it was run by the crew, two UNHCR staff members and two refugee women.

The Mont Blanc Bridge was paved with UNHCR flags, and the famous Jet d'eau fountain on Lake Léman was lit up in blue in the evening of 20 June to mark World Refugee Day.
