Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement
Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement
Since 1995, this annual event provides an opportunity to address a wide range of policy and procedural matters, including advocacy, capacity building and operational support.
An important outcome of the ATCR is the continued promotion and development of new and innovative ways to solve problems and combine resources to improve resettlement and complementary pathways for refugees.
The 2023 ATCR will be chaired by the Government of Ireland, represented by the Irish Refugee Protection Programme (IRPP) in the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and co-chaired by Nasc Ireland
The overarching theme for the ATCR 2023 is "Learning in crisis: Building solutions together".
The event will continue to involve government representatives from resettlement States, NGOs, refugees, academia, intergovernmental and international organizations and UNHCR.
Refugee Advisory Group to the ATCR
The Refugee Advisory Group (RAG), established in January 2020, includes representatives from national, regional and global refugee-led networks which contributed to the Global Refugee Forum, as well as those with lived refugee experience who now deliver services to newly resettled refugees or engage in advocacy in local communities. The group has an advisory role in the planning cycle of the Annual Tripartite Consultations on Resettlement (ATCR), liaising between the Chair and the refugee community, coordinating refugee participation and statements at the ATCR and the Working Group on Resettlement.
