More than 20,000 Togolese are now in exile, including a number of unaccompanied minors. Togo outflow passes 16,500 mark
2 May 2005 The number of people fleeing insecurity in post-election Togo has risen to more than 16,500, some of them citing harassment by security forces. More than 2,000 have been moved to camps further inland in Benin, while those in Ghana are crossing back home to work in the daytime. -

29 Apr 2005 A new camp and dispatch of aid supplies are underway in Benin as the refugee exodus from Togo continues to grow. At last count, neighbouring Benin and Ghana had received close to 7,000 new arrivals in the last three days. -
Emergency team deployed to Benin as Togo crisis deepens
28 Apr 2005 As refugees fleeing general insecurity in Togo continue to cross into Benin - numbering more than 3,600 in the last 48 hours - UNHCR is deploying an emergency team to Benin and trucking in more supplies from its warehouse in Accra. Small numbers of refugees are also reportedly trickling into Ghana.
