14 Feb 2006 A growing number of Burundians are leaving their country for Tanzania, saying that hunger and growing insecurity are forcing them to flee. Their living conditions in the overcrowded Tanzanian way stations where many are staying for weeks are a cause of great concern to UNHCR. -

The construction of two blocks of toilets and four water points not only allows the students of Kimwanya Secondary School to maintain good hygiene, but also enables Burundian refugees to have a comfortable stop-over, when they pass by on the voluntary repatriation convoys. -
