Angolan refugees airlifted home from Kinshasa
24 Aug 2004 As part of efforts to boost UNHCR's repatriation programme to Angola, 215 Angolan refugees were flown home on a UN-chartered flight from Kinshasa to Luanda last weekend. Land convoys also received a boost with the opening of a new corridor between Zambia and Angola last week. -

15 Jun 2004 For the first time this year, a convoy of 363 Angolan refugees headed home today from Meheba settlement in western Zambia. This marks the beginning of an operation to repatriate 40,000 Angolan refugees from Zambia this year. -

Angolan repatriation season starts again
21 May 2004 Two hundred Angolan refugees have gone home from Namibia in the first organised return convoy this year. They will soon be joined by Angolan refugees in Zambia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. In all, UNHCR plans to help 145,000 Angolan returnees in 2004. -
