UNHCR helps Congolese refugees return from Mozambique
12 Jun 2007 The UN refugee agency has begun an airlift to repatriate refugees to the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) from Mozambique. A total 112 refugees were flown on Monday and Tuesday to Kigoma in Tanzania, where they will board a boat and cross Lake Tanganyika to DRC. -
UNHCR fears for Congolese civilians caught in violence
9 May 2007 The UN refugee agency has called on all armed groups in Democratic Republic of the Congo's North Kivu province to immediately cease attacks on civilians. The continuing instability has prompted an estimated 123,000 Congolese to flee their homes in the past three months.
