EASO Consultative Forum with Civil Society

The first Consultative Forum (CF) between the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) and civil society organizations working in the field of asylum will be held in Valletta, Malta on December 15, 2011.

The CF is a mechanism for the exchange of information and pooling of knowledge. It will also allow civil society representatives to submit proposals to EASO on relevant topics, including the annual work programme and the annual reports. Apart from the plenary meetings, consultations between EASO and civil society will take place in expert meetings, workshops and internet consultations throughout the year.

Between 75 and 100 participants, including representatives from 27 European Union member states, UNHCR and the European Commission as well as European and international organizations will be invited to this first plenary meeting of the EASO Consultative Forum. Participants will be selected by EASO, in consultation with civil society organizations.
